Josh's life has been defined by service. Following undergraduate studies at McGill University, he completed training as an Infantry Officer and embarked upon a career in the Canadian Army. After nine years of honourable service which included a combat tour as a platoon commander in Kandahar, Afghanistan, Josh made the difficult decision hang up his uniform and released from the Canadian Forces. Grateful for the lifelong friends and memories he made as a member of the famed Royal 22e Régiment ("The Vandoos"), he moved to Toronto and began the process of transitioning to civilian life.
Josh returned to school, completing an MBA at Ryerson University where was welcomed and embraced by the diverse student community which became his second home outside the Army. Degree in hand from Ryerson, Josh began a career as a management consultant with an international firm where he works on innovative digital business solutions.
Grateful for the opportunities that Ryerson afforded him, Josh has remained engaged with the university as an alumnus. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association and an elected Alumni Senator. In the latter capacity, Josh has been a driving force behind efforts to push through initiatives recognizing the practical experience of young veterans with the goal of facilitating their post-service transition to a civilian university - much like he did.
Josh resides in the Beach with his partner Moya and their dog, Charlie. Moya is a partner at one of Canada’s top law firms and is a force to be reckoned with. Charlie has selective hearing when disciplined and loves to play catch.
